ETHICS, VALUES & SUSTAINABILITY
The way that we do business matters. We’re allies. We partner with social justice movements and support businesses that are BIPOC owned because we understand that business opportunities are one step along the road to economic equality in the cannabis industry.
At Zenbarn Farms, we hold ourselves to the highest standard for ethics, values and sustainability. We show our support by donating 1% of our sales to critical environment and social causes we believe in.
THE CANNABIS GENERATION EQUITY FUND
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Cannabis Equity Fund in partnership with the Pennywise Foundation. This nonprofit 501c3 will support BiPOC people to gain access to the cannabis industry in Vermont and nation-wide. Funds will be raised from voluntary contributions from the cannabis industry, individual philanthropy, grants and social enterprise.
WHY CANNABIS EQUITY?
Cannabis prohibition has a long and dark history linked with oppression of Black, Indigenous and People of Color (AKA the Global Majority). Early laws specifically targeted these groups who quickly were disproportionately harassed, arrested and criminalized for their use of cannabis despite similar rates of use by other groups of people.
The cannabis industry has a responsibility and an opportunity to both create economic opportunity and achieve social justice in ways we haven’t been able to achieve before!
