Zenbarn is a mission-driven company composed of a live music and events venue, dispensary, CBD brand and cannabis education center. We are seeking a dynamic leader who can manage all dispensary retail operations.
The Dispensary Manager oversees the daily operation of the dispensary, handling the needs of all customers and developing a professional team that is passionate about cannabis. The DM also works with the team to ensure the facility’s sound record-keeping and compliance with local and state regulations. Priorities include the implementation of dispensary policies, oversight and management of quality product inventory and the hiring, development and supervision of dispensary staff. The DM is also responsible for overseeing marketing, promotions and the maintenance of reports as they pertain to the daily operations and financials of the dispensary.
Job Functions
- Ensure the dispensary’s compliance with security, inventory and local and state regulations
- Manage and inspire internal staff to deliver the highest level of customer service
- Ensure the safety and satisfaction of every customer and employee
- Responsible for providing a high level of education and development for staff pertaining to cannabis strains, edibles, concentrates and consumption mechanisms
- Create budgets and forecast sales based on principles of retail business and experience
- Set sales, service, and profit goals and lead staff to exceed them
- Work closely with partners and suppliers to procure an adequate supply of quality products
- Fulfill staffing needs and coordinate scheduling
- Communicate with and coach staff on a regular basis to ensure the dispensary’s excellence in service and labor practices within the community
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents relating to dispensary performance, general business periodicals, professional journals, safety, security and technical procedures, and governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Develop operations plans and implement and manage dispensary policies and procedures
- Document financial, Inventory and customer trends; maintain sales and purchasing reports
- Manage and maintain dispensary sales and inventory management software
Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related experience
- Five years of experience in a retail management environment
- Excellent customer communication and service skills
- Strong interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills
- Passionate about serving the VT cannabis community
- Strong accounting, math and computer skills
- Must attain required state licensure
- Must be willing to submit to a background check
- Must be willing to work weekends!
- Prior experience within the cannabis industry

Pay: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year

We are looking for a Retail Sales Representative to provide excellent customer service and meet sales quotas for our retail cannabis store. Candidates with strong communication skills who can make customers feel welcome in our store will stand out. You will help identify client needs, present and answer questions about our products and services and recommend solutions. A positive attitude and a desire to promptly resolve potential customer issues or complaints will make you successful in this role. Ultimately, you will ensure that customers leave our store satisfied and you will contribute to the store’s profitability. Successful candidate will have a passion for cannabis as medicine, commitment to our mission and be a team player.
Responsibilities
- Greet and direct customers
- Provide accurate information (e.g. product features, pricing and after-sales services)
- Answer customers’ questions about specific products/services
- Conduct price and feature comparisons to facilitate purchasing
- Cross-sell products
- Ensure displays are fully stocked
- Coordinate with the team to provide excellent customer service
- Inform customers about discounts and special offers
- Provide customer feedback to the Store Manager
- Stay up-to-date with new products/services
- Support marketing and wholesale sales development

Skills
- Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Representative, Sales Associate or similar role
- Understanding of the retail sales process
- Familiarity with consumer behavior principles
- Knowledge of inventory stocking procedures
- Basic math skills
- Track record of achieving sales quotas
- Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
- Flexibility to work various shifts
- High school degree
- College Degree preferred
- Base knowledge related to cannabis, CBD and natural health remedies preferred
- Prior experience working in a dispensary preferred
